ASUS Zenbook UX31E

This is an amazing laptop, not only is it thin and sleek, it's super responsive and stays cool even under a little processing pressure. It has got a bigger price tag than most i5 laptops, but this is totally worth it. It is solid and very well built. The aluminum keys feel great to type with. I don’t know why anyone would seriously want a tablet after using this computer. The computer suspends for up to two weeks, and when you resume it is almost instant. I guarantee if anyone gets this laptop, they will not be sorry.

Straight Talk 3G slower?

Submitted by Dave Won on
If you have noticed that your Straight Talk 3G (AT&T) connection on any of the Nokia phones has slowed over the last few days, then you’re not alone. When a request for a URL or download is made... There is an almost 10-second delay in response before the data comes down the airwaves; other people have been reporting intermittent slower speeds on HowardForum.com Whether this is due to overload of traffic on the AT&T MVNO servers, or AT&T trying to crack down on the overuse of their MVNO network, as has been done with native AT&T unlimited plans it’s anyone’s guess.

Ok, so this video is a quick review of the T-Mobile LG G2X but also to let you know you can get the G2X cheap of the web and just put a Straight Talk Sim card in... as they do sell Sim cards now. Also Simple Mobile sells Sim cards that use the T-Mobile network, with a plan that is $40 for Unlimited everything (3G) so just a heads up for those who can’t wait.

Tracfone LG 235C

The LG 235C is another little phone that is coming out from Tracfone soon. This phone is very much like the LG 231C that was released a few years ago. Though this phone may not excite many people that crave smartphone news; this will still be a great phone for someone after a simple phone with good battery life. The Standby time is 12.5 days, which is something that may really appeal to someone who forgets to charge regularly. Anyway, Tracfone still leads the way with basic phones. Price will be $10 to $20.

Retro: Motorola StarTAC

Submitted by Dave Won. on
Probably, one of the most well known phones the Motorola StarTAC was a great phone in its time. This was the first true flip phone that utilized both sides of the clam shell design. When the phone is opened up the speaker is at the top of half of the phone and the main section of the phone contains everything else. When you first look at this phone, and I mean to look even at the very first StarTAC it’s hard to believe that a phone this small was out in 1996. Many different StarTAC models came out over the year improving small features over time. Until recently these phones have been sold new in Korea where they were on the market for a longer period than the States. The phones sleek design made it a hit in Hollywood as this futuristic phone was the ultimate accessory for an actor to have on the movie set.

How to Unlock a GSM Phone

Submitted by Dave Won. on

From time to time we get questions on how to unlock a phone from a GSM network, so we thought we would put together a video that explains exactly how to do it using company called cellunlocker.net we must point out that if you are with T-Mobile sometimes they will unlock your phone for free after you have been a customer for 3 months. If you are looking to use your phone on any GSM provider in the US then unlocking the phone is essential.

Straight Talk LG Optimus 2X 4G Review

Submitted by Eric Smith on

For most people this phone to get outright at $249 might be hard to afford, but if you can muster the cash, this phone sure is with every penny. I really don’t think anyone could have guessed that this phone would be coming out on Straight Talk & Net10 on the $45 unlimited plan. This phone is big, solid and powerful. I mean you can't expect anything more really for the price. Next thing Samsung Galaxy S II will be on Straight Talk. Anyway, the phone is really nice… exactly the same as the G2X that came out on T-Mobile last year, and nothing has been skipped. It has the same FCC ID. We already knew this but just to confirm the phone is using T-Mobile’s network... Which officially means Straight Talk has used every major network. The 8 MegaPixel camera on this phone is good during the day, but night shots with the LED flash are not good.

AT&T Huawei U2800A Review

Submitted by Dave Won. on
The AT&T U2800A is a base model cell phone that you can get for around the $20 mark. This phone is suited to someone who wants a really basic phone for making phone calls or texting. For someone who is on vacation, and they want a phone that they don’t really care about so much, or will have lesser chance of being stolen then this phone is the way to go. The AT&T U2800A is made by Huawei and is one of the cheapest phones that you can get on the AT& GoPhone prepaid network. This phone is 3G, but it will be a hard to take advantage of the 3G speeds given the phone only has a basic WAP browser that was great on cell phones two years ago. This phone has not got a Camera or a memory card slot. All in all, it is a $20 cell phone.
