T-Mobile Comet Review

T-Mobile Comet Review

I had the pleasure of unboxing the T-Mobile Comet Android, and I have to say this is just a sweet phone! Even before I powered up the phone I got a few surprises that you don't expect from a prepaid package. Firstly the charger doubles as USB cable! Yah! No extra data cable purchase needed for Tethering. (The cable comes out of the plug pack)

The T-Mobile Comet is a tidy little phone with its small 2.8” touchscreen that seems super responsive. This would be the first Android that I have used that wasn't very heavy, it could easily slip out of your hands without you knowing, which may not happen as the phone has rubber edge surrounds that are grippy.

A Transcend 2GB Micro SD card was included, already seated in the phone, so that was another cool thing that I hadn't seen in a while. So out of the box the phone is ready to go.

We purchased the model done in this test at Best Buy which had a few in stock. Priced at $149.99 I though this phone is phone that is bound to ruffle some feathers in the prepaid market, espcially now T-Mobile prepaid has a Unlimited Talk and text plan that I will talk about later.

Using the T-Mobile 3G network, the Comet is capable of downloading and running all the latest apps from the Android Market place so this you basically have access to 1000's of applications that are going to amazingly helpful to you when you need them.

I powered the phone up initially without the Sim card inserted, and this wasn't a problem as I was able to use the phone without it, to check various functions that it has.

The phone detected that there was no network and I was asked if I would like to connect to Wifi network! I was like awesome, I was sure that this would have been locked down but it wasn't.

Using the Android OS for most is very easy, because I was used of using it on previous Android phones, so this was a no brainer.

So here is my quick summary: If you like the Android OS and you already have a T-Mobile.. stick you sim in and your set to go... If you want Unlimted talk and Text, and you plan to use Wifi for the data... go for it!... it's a nice phone really it is...9/10 Dan:)
