The Samsung T404G is a very basic phone that looks a lot like the other QWERTY slide phones that have come out.

So once again we have a phone that isn't much of an upgrade on the previous T401G.

People that have this phone will tell you to steer clear of it. It's not worth wasting your time one.

Now before we write this phone off, this phone given its limits may be perfect for someone who is just after a GSM phone that does just his.

I got this phone a couple of days ago and I disagree with the negative reviewer at the top of the page. The T404G is a really nice feature phone. 3g and 4g service is spotty in my area so why should I pay $$$ for a smartphone when this $60 T404G does everything I need at the moment? I would rather text than talk, so I love the slide out qwerty keyboard. The keyboard sounds can be turned off. I ordered the phone at tracfone with triple minutes for life and I transferred my old tracfone number and minutes to this phone. At amazon I bought an 8GB class 2 micro SD card, Samsung OEM car charger, Samsung data cable and Samsung stereo headset AAEP407SBE. I used the data cable to download some mp3's into my phone and played them just now and it sounds quite good. (on phone settings set USB to "data" to download, set to "modem" for headset). The 2MP camera is decent. (LOL I remember years ago paying $500 for the very first Canon digital camera and it was 2.1 MP). Today, I downloaded Opera Mini 4.3 directly from m.opera.com to my phone and I'm running that to surf the net. It automatically installed in the "games" folder. (At first, site will say that phone is not compatible, but if you click public download link it will give you opera mini 4.3 which works great). I am not an extremely heavy cell phone user, and this phone does all I want and more. In a couple of years, I'll upgrade to a smart phone when their price comes down and when my local network is upgraded.

Anytime I save something on my phone, press the button to receive a text or send a text, my phone makes a loud beep sound. This is very irritating and makes being discrete with my phone impossible. Does anyone know how I could turn this feature off?

u can use head phones with this phone u just have to get headphones that have a plug on them that is the same as your phone charger and it plugs into the same place as your phone charger!!!! u gotta b smarter than the phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you guys can just turn the ringer off or put it on vibrate and the sound of texting, calling, and any other noise is gone. Its just silent.

Same problem - how to delete voicemail? Anybody know? Pressing 3 to fast forward and 7 to delete doesn't seem to work.

You need Opera Mini version 4.4 for your T404G. Higher numbered versions of Opera Mini will not work on this phone. On your phone go to: Menu > Browser > Enter URL > m.opera.com The Opera mobile web page will state: Sorry no Opera for T-Mobile etc.. At the bottom of that page it will say "meanwhile try downloading the public Opera Mini build" Hit "OK". The page that shows up next will show an option for downloading Opera Mini 4.4. The link should be already highlighted, so hit "OK" to begin the mobile download and install.

Florida girl, I tried to download Opera Mini to my Samsung and it just keeps saying "file not supported". I can't find a "click public download". Any suggestions?
