Samsung Galaxy Precedent Review

This is a nice phone, but it appears people’s thoughts about the Sprint network (this is the network that Straight Talk uses on this phone) is exactly what was feared. We got no coverage in Phoenix and we are not the only ones. Please let us know if you have had success where you live!

The phone is like any Android it is easy to use and the touch screen is good, battery life is fantastic, and you have access to the awesome apps on the Android Market place. The WiFi works well. There doesn’t appear to be any lock downs for any functions. Great phone 8/10! Coverage 0/10

Straight Talk has announced that the Samsung Galaxy Precedent will before September 2011 hit the shelves. This news will come as a shock to many, but there is no doubt this will sell like a California wild fire. One thing this is going to also do is stick it to the phone dealers with their nasty plans. So an everyday Joe like you and me can now have an Android, and unlimited Internet, calls and text. This phone is said to be on the Sprint Network. link: Sprint coverage map

All straighttalk phones run through att towers except the android phones...all straighttalk androids run through sprint... why i do not know but a manager of the company told me that verizon handed over the service coverage becasue the company was growing to fast for them to keep up with.

I got this phone for my birthday and spent the last couple of days getting used to the layout, etc. of Android (which can be kinda stressful if your new, like me xD). I called Straight Talk (no waiting =D), and they deactivated my old S.T. phone and activated this one in about 20 minutes. :) No problems. Speaking of no problems, so far, I have not had any issues with this phone. It has acted fantastically. The internet, market etc. work great. Some quick phone memory tips: this phone doesn't have as much internal memory as other androids, but it's not a problem if your careful. You can view your remaining phone and SD card memory by going to settings -> SD card and phone storage settings. If you find your phone's memory slowing decreasing, then it may be your apps if you downloaded any. To solve this, go to settings -> applications -> manage applications. Poke the application that you downloaded and press clear cache (Also do this with the Android Market!). The cache zaps up your phone's memory. When you download an app, make sure you know how "big" it is. If it says 2mb (and it has good reviews, don't forget that) then download away. If its like Angry Birds, which takes up 18mb (the Precedent only offers like 125mb or something like that once everything is set up) then you have to be careful. Luckily, Angry Birds can be moved to the SD card which takes a lot of the strain off of the phone's memory. Above the clear cache option on SOME apps is a "Move to SD Card" option or something like that. Doing that really helps. :P If you have a download frenzy, then the phone can become slow and laggy, and no one wants that. ;)

Well I saw you review and it made me laugh because it seemed like you wanted to bash this phone more than you did. I think we understood that the phone "did not work in your zipcode" you beat that one down pretty good. I couldn't help but notice that you were frustrated by the end of the video and you might as well said, "Look everyone don't buy this phone." I thought TracPhone was on the Verizon network because I had a straight talk phone and I put the phone number into http://www.fonefinder.net/ and it found that the straight talk phone I was using was on the Verizon network.. Oh well that's not to big of a worry... anyway I'm going to get that phone because I know Sprint works where I live and yes I know that it doesn't work in Maricopa AZ which is south of Phoenix... Strange huh? Good luck and I hope you have some better reviews in the future.
