 | Introduction Boost Mobile™ originally founded in Australia and Zealand in 2000. Boost eventually made it to the United States during 2001 to entered a joint venture with Nextel market the brand in the states. The aim was to market specifically to the urban cities and towns. The Sprint Corporation's purchased Nextel in 2006, Boost Mobile remained as a wholly owned subsidiary of newly formed Sprint Nextel Corporation. At the end of 2006, Boost launched its Unlimited by Boost Mobile Service on the CDMA network. The service offered unlimited talk, text, and wireless web it was only offered in a limited amount of states & markets. Sprint Nextel merged with Vigin Mobile in late 2009.
Durning 2010 Boost Mobile launched the Motorola i1 phone, a push-to-talk Android phone first of its kind in the states.
