GreatCall is a no contract phone provider that was started in 2006 in California. The phone service runs off the Verizon CDMA network. Greatcall offers just two phone currently.

They have their own line of Samsung phones called the Jitterbug, which are basically designed for simplicity and basic functionality for people that want and easy to use phone that is going to be there when they need it, the other phone is the Samsung R100 which is nice little phone.

These phones are very simple because the companies focus is on the older generation, people that find new technologies hard to use, which is a great concept as there is a huge need for this.

Unique feature: GreatCall has a bunch of services that are aimed 24 hour help services for security/Medical and more. (explained below)

GreatCall prides itself with quick response times to technical issues, and has an All American call center.

GreatCall would be a great gift for senior family member or friend, to give them an extra feeling of security.

Don't like the phone and return it then the cost to try this free trial will cost $45. $35 activation plus incomin shipping cost and outgoing shipping. This is not a free trial
This company is a rip-off!! Total fees and taxes paid on a $79.99 bill was $16.42. My Verizon fees and taxes on a $79.99 bill was $10.28 ... why the difference??? Additionally operator assist calls are charge for a minimum of 5 minutes "PLUS AIR-TIME" now what does this mean???
greatcall does not and can not control state and government taxes. Also, the operator assistance calls saying there is a charge of 5 minutes plus air time, means that one call to operator services deducts 5 minutes from the rate plan, plus however many minutes the customer stays on the phone speaking to whomever they requested.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! This company is deceiving you Elderly Folks..... The fact that the phone has simple features is just a play on the senior community. They then offer to low-income customers a plan that will undoubtedly be a plan that is fraught with overages and future cost issues. Texting costs, pictures cost, and the billing dept has no mercy. There is no plan avail that will not potentially be a huge overage bill in the future, except the Simply Unlimited, (80.00 a mo). Thats outrageous! The phone has changed too now, and is just a regular phone. So don't buy into the false hype. I have a simple phone that I paid 29.99 for and Unlimited is 35.00 DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

Thank you for your comments and honesty. You saved me time and money. I was all for this GreatCall device thinking it would protect me wherever I travelled. However, after reading these comments I would be paying more in ib overages, texting, pictures costs. Again, thank you for your honesty it is sincerely appreciated.

WARNING: DO NOT EVER BUY A JITTERBUG PRODUCT that uses GREATCALL as their service provider! THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP OFF!!!!!!. I can not believe their HORRIBLE requirement that you have to pay $35 and MAIL the phone to Great Call just to have the phone reactivated. WHAT A SCAM!!!! I will NEVER purchase products from that company again! The totally take advantage of people by adding multiple kinds of fees. PATHETIC!!!

I have been a customer since 2009. During the first couple of years I could call any time and a courteous rep would pick up the phone almost immediately. Now I call with a problem and I wait 10 minutes before someone picks. When the agent could not help me, I asked to speak to a supervisor and none were available. They have so called attempted to order me a replacement phone now twice but failed to ship it. I will go elsewhere for my cell service and so should you.

Greatcall "customer service" is a JOKE. RUDE agents that talk over you when you are explaining a problem.Even the supervisor did so during my call. Over 20 minutes on the phone this time to complete a simple task.

This company is a ripoff. No contracts No service No refunds No guarantee you will ever get help when you need it. Just pay them money. Better off just using 911 on a cell phone..........
