Emulation has always been a big thing for me; I like to play the older games on my computer using DOSBOX but what if you could play these older games in your browser or a computer at school without any setup or technology knowledge? Well you can now by going to a site called PlayDOSGamesOnline.com this site has been around for a while now but I only just stumbled across it while looking for a game. The games run straight from your browser with no installation required.
The way the site works is it uses a JavaScript version of DOSBOX that has been setup to stream the games on request. The games are preconfigured to run straight away, the only major problem I have is that there seems to be no way to say your game progress. However despite this pitfall the fact that this something like this even exists is great.
They recently put up Windows for Workgroups 3.11 this emulates perfectly, and I am able to play the games section that comes with Windows which is cool.
The game I was looking for was Super Solvers Treasure Mountain and it worked great in my browser. I personally found the games work the best with Google Chrome, and second to that Firefox and stay away from Internet Explorer as it had issues with games. So if you want to play DOS games online I recommend this site games load fast and they take requests, they even put Commander Keen 4 Secret of the Oracle for me so I am super impressed. What a great way to play games at work and still get paid
