You no longer need to purchase one of Straight Talks phones in order to enjoy the benefits of the $45 unlimited plans. This is good news for people with unlocked GSM phones who want unlimited 3G, Talk & Text. This has got to be the best thing to happen since the day Straight Talk was first announced. AT&T has announced that it has struck a deal to purchase T-Mobile USA, this will make AT&T the largest cell mobile phone provider in the United states. The deal came at a cool cost of $39 Billion and the take over is expected to take around 12 Months to complete once US regulators have approved the deal.

| It has become apparent that Straight Talk has moved over all its phone models to the GSM network which is AT&T. The change has been very slow but you will be struggling to find any CDMA models in Walmart now. There are still a few CDMA models on Straight Talks website but it is clear they have been phased out. Suspicion arose when the Samsung R810C Finesse was dropped. There hasn't been any new CDMA models in over a year. |
