You no longer need to purchase one of Straight Talks phones in order to enjoy the benefits of the $45 unlimited plans. This is good news for people with unlocked GSM phones who want unlimited 3G, Talk & Text. This has got to be the best thing to happen since the day Straight Talk was first announced. The sim card kit is $14.99 at the Straight Talk sim card site: http://www.straighttalksim.com/

In cellular service, there are two major vying mesh technologies: Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). Cellular carriers encompassing Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile use one or the other. Understanding the distinction between GSM and CDMA will permit you to select a carrier who values the preferable network for your needs.

Review of the LG Thrive from AT&T. When we opened this phone we were thinking because of the price this phone would have a cheap type feeling when being use, while infact we found the exact oposite, this phone is a bargan! It is load with 3G, Wifi, GPS and much mare as you can see from the specs below. |

| It has become apparent that Straight Talk has moved over all its phone models to the GSM network which is AT&T. The change has been very slow but you will be struggling to find any CDMA models in Walmart now. There are still a few CDMA models on Straight Talks website but it is clear they have been phased out. Suspicion arose when the Samsung R810C Finesse was dropped. There hasn't been any new CDMA models in over a year. |
