Straight Talk LG Optimus Q Review

Average: 3.6 (30 votes)

The LG Optimus Q, Straight Talk’s second Android phone is on its way. If you're interested you can already pre-order the phone at Straight Talk reserve order page here: http://reserve.straighttalkandroid.com/.

This is a great phone with the addition of a full QWERTY keyboard. The LG Optimus Q is not a new model, it came out last year. This phone should be better than the Samsung Galaxy Precedent, LG from my experience have always made better phones. So this LG Optimus Q should make the competition worry. It is however going to be on the Sprint Network so check coverage maps before you order.

cverage 3g

Comment:

unfortunately straight talks unlimited only applies to talk and text. due to being a prepaid service they have a 500 mb bandwidth limit on 3g usage

You pay for the $60 a month

Comment:

You pay for the $60 a month international plan. The $45 a month unlimited plan is only for the U.S. This is only for Straight Talk. If you have Net 10 or Tracphone it just costs more minutes. Not sure about the Net 10 $50 Monthly unlimited plan, but I think it can do international calls.

Great Phone

Comment:

I've had this phone for 3 months so far. Reception has been great. The 3G works whenever I need it to. Ppl seem to have issues with reception as this is on the Sprint network, but I've NEVER had an issue with reception. Games look really good. Battery life is not that great, but I strongly recommend to anyone who has this phone or any android to download the app, 'juice defender.' there are plenty of battery saving apps on the android market. This is the best one by far and it really works. I used to have to charge my phone everyday with normal use, now I can go 3 days without charging it.

Don't waste your money

Comment:

I just purchased the LG Optimus Q (L55c) for my wife. I reluctantly did this knowing that it is going to be on the Sprint network. I don't know where the problem is, the phone or the service but either way this is not satisfactory to me. I hope I didn't buy a $180 paperweight. I will try to return this ASAP but I have to wait for another phone to arrive from Amazon. If you live in the Cincinnati area, stay away from this combination of phone/service.
